Memorial Day 2011.

The cutest boy on the planet.

My feet are weird looking I have realized... and accepted.

Today we wrote our first letter to Arlen, the little girl we are sponsoring in Honduras. Very Exciting!

Freckles are appearing =)

Great DAY! I have loved my three day weekend and I am sooo sad it's over.  Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Always remembering.

Thank you to our military. Your sacrifice unites us all.

God Bless.
Happy Memorial DAY!

Super Natural Cooking.

Today I made a quick trip to Barnes and Noble to pick up one awesome book.

Super Natural Cooking, by Heidi Swanson.
Heidi is the writer of 101 Cookbooks
You have to check out her blog!

This book focuses on incorporating whole and natural ingredients into your cooking.
Not only is it packed with great information, but it's beautiful.

I cannot wait to dive into these recipes and restock my pantry with some more great stuff.
Off to watch some shows and enjoy this evening. NO WORK TOMORROW!!!!!!!
Hope everyone has a fabulous Memorial Day.

Asheville.

Today James and I went to Asheville.

Tupelo Honey Cafe. Downtown location. Umm so good. Complimentary homemade biscuits with honey and blueberry jam. Appalachian Egg Rolls as appetizer. Venerated Veggie Bowl for my main (goat cheese grits, salsa verda pinto beans, savory sauteed greens, and crispy fried okra). This is an awesome place.

However, downtown Asheville is interesting to say the least. Not really our style.

So...we then ventured to the North Carolina Arboretum. So beautiful.

Pretty day!

Hubby happiness.

Hanging out with my baby, eating good food.
Life is good.

We totally splurged tonight =)

Blogger Spotlight: Arielle Elise from A Beautiful Journey

Meet Arielle.
I met sweet Arielle in a little thing I call the blogger world. I more than love her blog and photography. She truly has a heart for Jesus and her journey really is beautiful. You must check out her blog. Be prepared to fall in love.
1. You have one adorable blog. What got you started in the blogging world and what do you want your blog to accomplish?
Thank you! I started blogging more often at the beginning of this year. After having a little one and not working    an eight to five job anymore, I wanted to spend some time writing and capturing moments with my new son. I want to share what I am learning on this journey with my family, friends and others.

2. You got married at 19. I'm sure you get this a lot, but what made you and your husband want to get married so young?
After dating for a while, we both knew that we were going to get married one day. We prayed...alot. We also talked with our parents and others who were older than us for Godly advice. We went forward with our engagement and we did end up getting married quite young. I'm very glad that we did and that our friends and family were so encouraging!

3. You are so talented in photography! Tell us about your photography business and how you got started.
Thank you so much...I definitely love taking pictures. I started taking pictures oversees when I'd go on mission trips. When I got married, I realized that photography would be an awesome way to make some extra money for our little family. I love photographing people and getting to know them...I love people.

4. I live in the Great Smokey Mountains. I know you love the countryside too, could you tell us why?
Yes! I don't know if I would do so well in the city. I've lived in the city before and I couldn't seem to get used to the fast-paced way of life. I love living near a lot of farms....where tractors travel down the same roads I drive and there are horse farms everywhere. Love it!

5. Traveling seems to be a passion of yours. Looking back what has been your favorite place and why?
My favorite place that I have traveled to would probably be Germany. It was absolutely beautiful and I loved Europe. There is so much history there! It is a definitely a place that I would love to visit again.

6. What are your hobbies?
Photography, writing music, playing the guitar.... I also love working on my blog and other art projects.

7. You play the guitar. What song can you rock out on?
Haha...Oh, I'm not sure....if you can rock out to bleugrass, then I'd say a bluegrass song :)

8. Favorite thing about your husband?
His patience....I'm so thankful that the Lord gave me a patient husband. He seems to be stronger in the areas that I am weaker in, and I'm forever grateful for that.

9. How has motherhood changed your life? Tell us about your little one.
It has dramatically changed my life....all for the better. Since having my son, I have learned so much. I am understanding more and more what it means to be selfless. I absolutely love my little guy...his little smiles and laughs definitely brighten up my days. Having children is such a beautiful picture of how God loves us and cares for us.

10. Tell us why you love Jesus!
Oh my, because He is the only one who can truly satisfy. His love quenches my thirst that no one or nothing else can. He died so we might have life...He is worthy of my love & my life.

Thank you Arielle for sharing your beautiful heart!
I am so honored to have you on the blog, my sister in Christ.

Call me Mrs. Blogger.

It's official. I am no longer a tumblr-er. You can call me Mrs. Blogger now =)

Whew. Today has been an all out blog fest.  Switching blog domains is not a simple task. I'm so tired.  However... here is the new blog. Happy to show it off! I'm still in the design process and will take my time tweaking it. I love the look and feel of blogger though.

Thanks for putting up with all my design changes! I'm kinda OCD about it all and still have so much I wanna do with it.

Since I am in the transition phase of the blog... I wanted to share some of my plans.

I will continue with the Eat Well Series that was started over at Tumblr. I have been a slacker on this series and I apologize friends!

I also plan on continuing the Spotlight Series.

Some other plans:
  • Photo Walks
  • Simply Photo Series
  • Our Freedom Story Series
I am super excited to continue sharing my journey of day to day with each of you.
Thanks for the support of my little blog.
