Value Series: Engage in Service

We are on to our number four value in our value series.

So far we have covered:

Today it's all about... Engaging in Service!
This is when we use our treasures, talents, and time to further God's purposes.

Engaging in service is all about using whatever God has given to us (little or small) to serve one another. Jesus simply asks us to bring Him what little we have, or what little we know... to Him. Remember the story of the Jesus feeding the 5000 with two loaves of bread and five fish? Well, the disciples simply gathered what they had (2 loaves, 5 fish) and gave it to Jesus. HE is the one who made something out of nothing. He is the one who moves mountains in our lives. He is simply asking us to trust Him.

So... what is it that we have that we could give to God?

What talents to do have? Are you skilled in an area? What things do you own that you could offer to God to use? How about just giving Him your time?

That's one thing I've learned here lately. We all have the same amount of time every day (24 hours). That's it. I can continue to whine and complain that there is not enough time in the day to do and accomplish all I want to, or I can give the time I have to God. He is the one who made everyday 24 hours. He knew that we would need this boundary of time. I'm sure He has a reason for giving us only a certain numbers of hours each day- so I need to just give them all to Him. To make more priority for using the time I have to further His kingdom. Time is a big one. How we choose to spend our time says a lot about our character. Am I serving others?

Much love!
